If you are an athlete, professional, competitive or non-professional, you have a training regimen that includes conditioning, nutritional considerations, and the unique training of your chosen endeavor. You are probably interested in achieving results whether it is building muscle, getting faster, jumping higher, gaining greater precision, balance, and coordination.
Efficient body mechanics are essential to gaining strength and speed for all athletes, whether you are playing tennis, rowing, running, playing basketball/soccer/hockey. I work with athletes to help them troubleshoot problems that cause pain and injury and to improve their skill level. The principles of the Alexander Technique help to solve these issues organically by distilling down muscular effort to a level that is crucially necessary and not an ounce more. Most injuries are caused by repetitive mis-use of our bodies. It is my goal to help define what muscular effort is not necessary in any activity, in other words what are the habitual interferences that are causing the problems.
