After dancing professionally and teaching ballet for many years I started to take ballroom lessons – a long time desire.
It was over a decade ago that I walked into the studio of Fred Astaire Montville and found my wonderful teacher and friend, Ilya Ifraimov.
I looked forward to our many showcases that included the dance styles American Rhythm and International Latin.
When Ilya retired from Pro-Am, I continued studying and competing in International Latin and Smooth, with Ivan Kudashev, my second fabulous teacher and exceptionally talented pro dancer.
It’s been a pleasure to work with my ballroom students, both professional and amateur and see them improve their technical and performance skills all by learning to free their movements from excess tension.
My goal is to continue to pass on what I have learned both from my own ballroom lessons and my experience teaching F.M. Alexander’s discovery.
Workshops to Go
Students: Ask your manager about holding a workshop in the studio where you practice
Do you want to stand out in your competitions and showcases?
Do you often wonder why something isn’t working and you don’t know what to do?
Would you like to learn to give up unneeded tension in any movement, including stillness.
Do you want to learn to move through your daily life with more ease, efficiency and breath and dance more gracefully?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you will learn and benefit from my introductory workshop.
